I like the thought process Tommy but;
Halves are something split in two.
Thirds are split in three.
Quarters are split into 4 equal parts.
If you were to split the game in six equal parts, then I would be in favor of saying they play sixths.

Just and FYI World Cup Officials;
If you have play two halves but take a break halfway through each half, then you are playing 4 quarters.
