Below is a post from two years ago, and I think it is becoming clear gambling is going to be an issue for all sports. It is much worse than the leagues want to let on, or most people believe. The player props are such an easy thing for players to mess with, without trying to throw the game, that I am confident it is happening on a regular basis. Not sure they can do much to fix it now.

Was not a fan of the NFL, and all sports, making gambling so accessible. I think issues like the Ridley situation are only the tip of the iceberg. And I believe it is, or will become a far more serious problem then the NFL or people think.
Beyond the obvious control on the field, there is just too much information players, coaches, and people involved in the game are privy to. It is not just the player betting, they could easily give info to friends or family members.
The prop wagers are a far bigger shady situation than the win / lose / cover wagers in my opinion.
