Thanks for sharing. When I was in my teens we learned how to get autographs after Blazer games. We did this quite often. One time me and brother who 6 years younger were waiting to outside for the players to leave/get on their bus. This time was the Bulls and out comes Artis Gilmore in a full length fur coat. It was a very impressive site until he walked straight to the bus virtually running over my little brother. He seemed to have a contempt for every body out there (or maybe a just a bad day). There were also players who very nice. Like Maurice Lucas, Michael Thompson, jack Sikma.

Heard of Franco Harris passing this morning and it brought back memories of an interaction I had with Franco as a child:
Growing up my family had season tickets to the Chargers, and after the games my father would take me down to the area the players would board the bus. When I was about 9 years old the steelers were in town and after the game I went down the get some autographs. Terry Bradshaw, Rocky Bleier, Dwight White, Jack Ham and others signed autographs and were great to the fans. When I asked Franco to sign an autograph, he grumpily said not today kid, pushed passed me and got on the team bus. Maybe he was having a bad day, maybe he wasn't feeling well, or maybe thats just the kind of guy he was.
