General Engineering Contractor has an immediate opening for an experienced Asphalt Paving Foreman or Superintendent. The Paving Foreman /Superintendent will supervise the paving operation to ensure projects are in accordance with design, budget and schedule and coordinate all aspects of paving projects based out of the Fresno, CA office. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of asphalt cost control and safety procedures.

Job Duties Include:
• Supervise a paving crew to ensure projects are built safely in accordance with design, schedule and budget.
• Ensure the safety of employees, subcontractors and the public.
• Evaluate craft workers, operators and field supervision to ensure they are capable of performing assigned tasks safely.
• Cost code invoices and timecards, reviewing weekly job costs to maintain budget.
• Ensure work is executed according to contract terms and conditions.
• Recommend measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, final product quality and crew performance.
• Perform a variety of tasks in heavy/highway construction projects.
Applicants MUST have the following qualifications:

• Valid CA driver’s license with low point driving record.
• Minimum 5 years asphalt paving supervisory experience with 3+ CalTrans experience preferred.
• Heavy equipment operating experience.
• Strong commitment to safety.
• Able to work varying shifts and travel to project locations.
• OSHA 30 and/or OSHA 10 certification preferred.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and train staff while leading crews.
• Comprehensive understanding of CALTRANS regulations and project specifications relating to construction and paving activities.
