Ever attend a game there? All seats provide great sight lines, the longest bar in North America on the east side is impressive, and the wide open and close parking areas would provide a better tailgate experience than we currently have. The open grass area on the east side (inside the stadium) would provide open space for kids to throw the ball around with parents. Last time I was there, the Quakes brought in “taco trucks” on the grass area with differnt types of food offerings. And they set-up a stage with live band. The venue would allow many athletic/school activities all in one area so that all attending could enjoy.
Could you imagine school groups taking over the lawn and turning it into a mini Spartan Fest?
The smaller size would also make the stadium feel “fuller” and louder than Spartan, especially for a first home game of the season; marketing the game at this venue would be an easier sell.
The school could provide charter buses for students, departing from the main campus to facilitate student attendance.
Still disappointed that we couldn’t get a shared stadium with the Quakes way back when. Love Spartan Stadium, but Avaya has some advantages that shouldn’t be dismissed so easily.
