attendance this yr considering great football
season?I think one is financial, a recession.
Also, media reporting including local paper,t.v.
and radio was lacking.A rickety-old stadium is
not selling pt.The adms. must become more pro-
active ,special package deals for companies
and organizations.

: Downtown San Jose is much cleaner and safer
: than when I was a student there in the 80's.
: There's never been much coordination between
: SJSU and City Hall, lack of apathy on both
: parts. If you go to Fresno and Boise you'll
: see city busses painted in their colors and
: logos and placards and banners all over
: town. I blame SJSU more than I do the city
: of San Jose, but they definitely need to
: both get there act "together"!

: The last time I was downtown was circa 2002.
: Things were getting much better. The condos
: across the street from State were being
: sold, Gordon Bierch had opened. I hope
: things kept on improving. What can you say
: about how down town looks? Anyway, it's true
: that SJSU has to reach out to the vendors
: near campus in order to increase their
: visibility. They should start with posters
: on the light rail trains, and transit buses.
: It's too bad that there isn't the same kind
: of business zoning around the stadium.
: University and city officials should get
: together and start planning.
