This is the problem if you don't rent fields at least 7 days or more prior to your event you can't rent them. In the past I have always rented 2 or 3 fields then added fields as teams signed up since most teams sign up Sunday or Monday prior to the weekend they want to play. With the new City policies you can't add fields to a rental unless you do it 7 or more days prior to your scheduled event even if NO ONE IS USING THEM. If you walked into the PAAC office on a Monday and they have NO EVENTS scheduled for the upcoming Saturday you CANNOT RENT THE FIELDS SINCE IT IS PAST THE 7 DAY WINDOW. Also understand you pay the entire rental fee up front before you step on the fields and this also must be done at least 7 days or more in advance to your scheduled event.
I cannot afford to rent fields that may not be used. At $200 a field and $20 an hour for lights I cannot afford to gamble on fields that will not be used.
I have rented the fields for my big events and have no problem renting fields if teams sign up early (before 7 days). Let's say I rent 3 fields for 2 weeks from now and I only get 8 teams I just lost $200 or let's say I rent 3 fields and on the Monday prior to the scheduled event I have 20 teams that want to play I cannot add fields EVEN IF THEY ARE NOT BEING RENTED. Very tough situation!! Some teams would not get to play in my event.
We are doing our best. Hopefully, the new 13 field complex that is going up across the street will be done in 2015. I have already guaranteed some of the gentlemen who have invested in this complex that we will bring most of our tournaments to them.
These are the policies of the City and I have to abide by them. Like I stated once the new fields are completed everyone will be happy again including me.
