I am looking for information on my grandfather. George Frederick Poulson born 1912 who served with HAA, LAA and field in World War II. He was in the BAOR and looks to have stayed in Germany or the Netherlands until 1957 and possibly later. He lost contact with his family and we think he started a new family. I am looking for information on behalf of my father who last saw his father in the 1940s.

We can't gain access to his service record as we don't have his death certificate (he probably died abroad).

I really want to know where he was stationed in Germany etc during the war but the Rhine is a big place!

Does anyone know whether soldiers who stayed in the army were paid a pension? And if yes, whether a relative can get access to those records to see where they were based abroad?
