My husband owns a sword that had been sold to a Cyril Holmes in 1900. It is a Royal Artillery sword, that is all I know. I had heard that it was my grandfathers, or, more likely, my great grandfathers, my mom was born in Sussex England, but I have heard that her family were originally Irish. That is all I know.

Can anyone advise me on what to do to trace Cyril or find out more information about him and the sword.
