Ken, Thankyou for that, I have read it and will go through it again in the morning.
My father died before they went to Normandy, he died 20/6/44 and it seems from what I read they went across 5/7/44. But I am sure he was with them at some point. I did not know my father had been in N. Africa til I read his record at the end of October. It only gives the area of posting not details of towns etc. You are probably familiar with army records.
It is all of interest as I knew little of my father as I was two yrs when he was killed. Rather late in life I have been trying to piece together his life story til he died at 31yrs old.
