Re: The Unbearable Lightness of Being
OK, great. We have a schedule. I have finished the Tabucchi and have begun Trollope.
Sounds very good to me. It is indeed crammed, but a good thing about it being just the two of us is that if either of us falls behind, we can simply extend it out a bit. (And by "either of us," I mean primarily me, of course, because I'm always the one lagging behind.) :^)
But yes, let's proceed along this outline.
OK, what about this? I've read the Tabucchi (which I liked a lot) and have started "The Last Chronicle..." For next year, a schedule could look like this, subject to your comments:
Jan-Feb: The Tale of Genji
Mar-Apr: Martin Chuzzlewit
May-June: Drive your Plow... / Story of the Stone (SS), vol. I
Jul-Aug: Palace Walk / SS II
Sep-Oct: Death in Veracruz / SS III
Nov-Dec: They Were Counted / SS IV / SS V
It looks rather crammed, but there's no hurry at all and we can acommodate SS however we may progress, finishing before the end of the year. Does it sound reasonable?
