Dixie Dale was a subdivision in the Ardwick area; it was platted in 1907 just when the Washington, Baltimore and Annapolis (WB&A) interurban line was being planned through that immediate area. It was developed by Curtis E. Gresham, and you can see the original plat in the plats.net website at

It was at the intersection of the Ardwick road and the line of the WB&A, now Martin Luther King Highway (MD 704), near the current intersection of US 50 and the Beltway.
