My 2nd great grandmother was Matilda M. Willis was born in Middletown, New Jersey. She was married to a William R. Willis who was born in Maryland. They had four children, all born in New York City between 1837 and 1848. I believe Matilda and her family returned to Maryland because William R. Willis died. The Baltimore Sun had an obituary for a William R. Willis on July 13, 1849. She returned to Maryland because there was family living there.

In the 1850 census she was living in the 7th Ward, City of Baltimore with Levi S. White, his wife Elvira and their family. Also in the 1850 census, one of her children, Ashley Willis (male) was living with a Henry Willis, his wife Elizabeth and their family in Vanesville, Prince George's, Maryland. Henry Willis remains in Maryland all of his life. In 1860 he is living in Hyattvill, Prince George County, Maryland. In 1870 he is living in Laurel, Prince George County, Maryland. His occupation in several censuses is shown as “farmer” or "farming".
. I believe Henry may have been the brother of William Willis.

I am trying to obtain any information I can about Henry (1807) and William Willis ( ??), they were both born in Maryland.
