Oh, and in addition to _Merlin_, from time to time, I find some pretty good insights into magick in the TV show, _Legend of the Seeker_.
And, if there is something I might mention, too, if I did not before: Christopher Penczak said that, for him, the key thing about being a shaman is creating sacred space.
When we do our cleansings and prayers and other things that seem sacrificial (not revealing immediate benefit), we are often working to create time, space, matter, energy, and mind in patterns that allow the good will of the gods to manifest.
As we clean up our lives and the environment, it becomes gradually easier to see the magick at work all around us. Sometimes, magick takes a long time. But, so can most things worthwhile. I remember Donald Trump saying that he has sometimes had to wait fifteen years for certain deals he wanted to swing.
So, keep investigating, doing works of good karma, and making friends with wise and helpful people and entities. This develops our magick power much like the pieces on a chessboard. The plan may not always be crystal clear but, if you have a feel for sound development, the advantages and puissand moves eventually present themselves.
