But, I will share my own experience with it, when this situation was presented to a friend of mine. She had a tumor the size of a golf ball on the inside of her uterus and had to get it removed. Before her surgery, the group I was working with at the time made a big offering to the goddess Sekhmet (candles, beef, pork, lots of beer). By the time she got her surgery, the tumor had shrunk to the size of a pea. As I said, not saying our group had "magical cancer curing powers" but I do think the offering and the goodness of Sekhmet helped immensely.
Sekhmet is a goddess of surgery and some treatments of cancer/tumors, but I would express caution (and not in a bad way) working with her if you haven't worked with her before. Her energy is very scorching and aggressive and can burn as easily as it heals. She also tends to be picky about who she works with.
Some gentler healing gods are Khnumn and Isis or as far as the Greek gods are concerned, Apollon and Ascelipus (did I spell that right?). Of course, you could always work with the Goddess as the Healer, or even healing Archangels (like Raphael). Basically, before working with any specific deity, I would talk with them first about working with them, and see what they want in return for helping, or if they prefer you to take another path for healing (ie, perhaps you would go to Isis but Khnumn would be better in the circumstance).
I would also say (and those here can contradict me, since I might be wrong) that I might stay away from draining spellwork and stick to a nice offering in return for healing. This will deplete your energy less, energy that you need to focus on your own healing.
Try offering a meal and some extras to whichever god has agreed to help you. Really look for things they like (that you can afford).
Make sure you stick to your doctor's advice, and take good care of yourself. Take the advised vitamins and your medicine, if they gave it to you. Magick and medicine should go hand in hand, in this case.
Also keep in mind, an offering may not have effect you want (as with any spell): for a variety of reasons. While I myself believe in the ability of the gods to work miracles, I also believe that they may withhold them for reasons we aren't able to understand at that time. Sometimes, illness or a struggle with illness is in our karma. Sometimes, through illness we learn things that we may not learn any other way. We have to be open to the will of the gods in our lives.
The reason I asked about the psychic vampires around you is because Dion Fortune has mentioned (I think in Psychic Self Defense) that being around particularly malevolent or aggressive ones can cause severe energy depletion, which leads to cancers in some cases. But since there aren't any around you, I wouldn't worry too much.
