Of course you'll know anything you might need can be supplied through Lady Mimi and the online store. That said, well..what *do* you need? While I would suggest you call Mimi, I can also suggest a few things. What most people do when they start all this is to read, read, read. I don't deny that that is a worthwhile thing to do, however you might also want to actually *do* something. Start by paying attention to the Moon.
Notice when it is waxing (or getting bigger), when it is full, and when it is waning. A great deal of witchy things are directly connected to the Moon's phase and it is in your best interest to know first and, after a while to feel when it is doing those things. You will eventually want to have an altar with all the cool things you have heard of. While it is nice, and Lady Mimi has some wonderful things for it, you _can_ do very well with some really basic things. Witches do a lot with the four Elements: Earth, Air, Fire, and Water (and Spirit which makes the top point of the pentagram you see all the time). Gather things that will remind you of those elements. A suggestion might be a feather for Air, a crystal for Earth, a shell for Water, and a red candle for Fire. You could easily use incense, a jar of sand, sea salt and water, and a box of matches, or almost anything else that represents these elements to your mind. An altar need be only a small shelf somewhere in your room that has these four things on it. It can be a very great deal more elaborate should you wish but thems the basics and are easily assembled. You'll probably want to read things that suggest what you'll need. Any Borders Books, or Barnes & Noble or the other large chains should have a Metaphysical/Magic/Wicca section. Depending upon your personal circumstances you may wish to just look around until you find it instead of asking, but that's up to you. For authors I might suggest Cunningham or Silver Ravenwolf. I know some knock Ravenwolf but her first couple of books are alright and cover the basics fairly well; and Cunningham is fine for a beginner. Ray Buckland's book "The Complete Book of Witchcraft" is ok, you're not required to get a drinking horn or all that Saxon wicca stuff, but much of the basics are covered there too. Really, if you want to get a solid, basic start, calling Mimi is a pretty good way to go.
