I haven't investigated herbs concerning alcoholism, but I do have an anecdote about gems. Some years ago, I felt that I should give a stranger a pendant of amethyst. I saw him once more, some weeks later, and he said that it was spiritually right, because he had had some problems with alcohol and his friends had told him that amethyst was helpful for that. The person with the problem has to recognize it as one and actually want to take action for it to work. Thus, I think that may be why wearing an amethyst with persistent intent may actually work better than some herbal treatments, which would affect the body similarly to alcohol, itself. With a gem, the response to the problem is raised to the mental platform.
