Erec does have legit e teams just as well as e has legit d teams, but nobody plays up anymore, everybody is allowed to play down, I agree rec e is for your start up teams and teams that play once in a blue moon, e is loaded with teams that cud play d ball, its the same game, still thrown called slow pitch softball, but u cant keep combining b/c/d, not speaking for everybody but I can almost guarantee thats why possible d teams stay down, but its the same game in d e and erec... u have to hit, run catch and throw to win games... just wish more teams tested the water, bump up play a tourney see where they stand, hell last year ill guarantee you that there was only maybe 1 rec e team that stepped out and played up some... more shud follow that example.. only gonna make u better ball players fellas... just sayin
When you have a " E " team with a winning percentage of .818 it doesn't belong in E. There should be some kind of standard that automatically moves a team up. Maybe the winning percentage. That being said that particular team would not have much of a chance winning a D tournament. What choice do they have ? Play up and not win or play down and be a weekly favorite. It cost a lot to play and losing sure isn't much fun . In the end it's the directors who are to blame. They want teams because teams are money . They are afraid to bump teams up because they fear losing them to another sanction . Who wants to play in a tournament that they have no chance of competing ? It's like the guy said a couple weeks ago ,when has a legitimate E team won the world and that goes for d,c...When you guys see a team signed up for a certain division that doesn't belong just don't play . Tell your director why and go play somewhere else. If enough teams do that he'll get the message. Remember ,it's all about the money and the players control the money. Like bharris said " everybody is allowed to play down ".Don't blame the team, blame those in charge.
Big R I jumped all over you simply because you called out a division you knew nothing about. Just like I can't say much about C. He made a lot of the same points I made and you agreed with him. Maybe your just too hard headed to listen to a rec player? His homerun idea has merit because right now there isn't much difference in rules between D and E which entices teams to play down, hence why weaker E teams formed Rec. Then Rec hr rules are exactly the same as E so now E teams drop to Rec. We are all in agreement that Rec doesn't need to exist.
No way E or rec E should get homeruns. Play every tournament by national rule, hr ends inning and offensive ejection in E and maybe the progressive rule for rec.
I agree with the homeruns and I don't. Some legit teams cant and wont hit homeruns only by accident. Then some teams have a lot of them that can. That's why we have so many different sanctions. Its been this way since I started tournament ball in 1998. This is some of the reasons I have pointed out that stay with the national rules or change them. It should be a coach/player vote nation wide. Brandon you know for a fact that there are a handful of teams in E rec that have stepped up to play the next level in E. Some did good and some not so well. But its better for a team to do that for better competition.
I know there have been very few rec teams that have willingly bumped up in my 4 years being back in tourney ball... in all my years of playing sports more times than not you play to the level of ur competition, yes backwoods boys was my team last year, we bumped to d for a 6 game tourney, we ended up getting stuck playing B n B, PTI, Friendly Transmission.... Quote un quote D teams... it they combined b/c/d that weekend yea we got our asses smashed, but we hung with the true D teams, it made us better as individual players and as a team. NC will never have a world champ simply because teams like to drop and trophy chase..... My team started in erec this year and we very quickly realized what we thought we already knew going In, we didnt belong in e rec. It is what it is, NC has 6 registered C teams, 26 registered D teams and already 60 registered in E as well as rec e. There are some very good D teams that cud play c just as there are e teams that cud play d. Im sorry if ur a conference team u have no business playing in an open tourney, you knew when u signed up to play conference it was alot of travel involved.. keep those out of open tourneyz or NC utrip get in gear and push to hold a conference tourney... simple.. teams classifications and teams dropping down is only hurting the entire sanction.... Freedom had 43 teams in the raleigh tourney... stuff dont change in utrip that number will only grow... sad that its turned into a money racket... we pay the most exspensive prices to play, you wud think things wud be a little organized with the classifications of teams... 1 or 2 ball players dont make a team.... it takes 10 players in the field and possibly 12 players swinging a bat to win tourneys.... but I guess let the drop downs keep dropping and playing for a trophy.....
what about the players that play on an E or E rec team that can actually hit homeruns at will but have not had the chance or opportunity to get invited to play on a C/D team? its not fair to eject those guys every time.
Why does everybody think its about hrs???; ill take a damn team full of hard base hitters and go play d ball.... we get the courtsey of 1n1 up playin d yes but guess what come NIT or Worlds its an out???? Any body with an oz of god givin talent can hit a homerun... the ball is pitched under handed....really??? Give me line drive hitters that spray the field and ill show u the best team in the state for "d"
