My team plays rec E and no we don't sand bag. I been playing for a while but got back into it this year coaching after about 3-4 years off. I asked today why we don't play by the national rules every tournament. My answer was they asked most of you several years ago and ya didn't want to. This is one reason why we are not bringing home gold from the worlds guys. If you play by the national rules all year every tournament then your prepared for the worlds. If you go play state rules then its not freaking right cause teams don't have the homerun players or got ones that have to have a runner every single time. If your out there to play ball then play. If your there to hit and not even run around the bases well my lord go to a Homerun derby. Its simple I been coaching since 1998. I have umpired also league and tournaments and played in all sanctions. If you play in one class in one sanction , then play in the same class in another sanction. Guys grab your gloves and bats and just play and one or two guys don't make a team. So conclusion is play where your team can compete. If you have won 2 or 3 in that class then great. If we play by the national rules then you probably wont win that much cause its only an out otherwise bat control is what it takes to play class E. Rec E is for teams just starting and trying to get prepared for E or D. SO PLAY THE NATIONAL RULES EVERY TOURNAMENT OR NOT. DONT BASH just SWING AWAY
Re: All TEAMS/ COACHES please give me your advice.
we don't bring home gold in the worlds because every world or every big tournament for that matter has about 25 to 30 percent of the field who are playing down. very simple nothing complicated. you can play any rule you wanna play as long as you have 40 d teams playing in a e tournament then odds are you will get a d team winning the e world.
Re: All TEAMS/ COACHES please give me your advice.
I already knew that and not being complicated but all states need to make every team play and not drop down just because they lost some players. That's a problem. I am not the one whining. I been doing this too long and its not changing. Every state in the united states need to play by national rules no matter what class. I watch teams not just in NC but in other states play D in SC or VA and come here and play E. Not fair to anyone when they are a true C team. Then B teams lose 4 or 5 guys and want to drop to D to go to the worlds. Yes ur statement is correct. Look back to 2004 to now and there is no legit world winner that started in the same class at beginning of year and went to the worlds. If they did they played up to get better and that's what teams don't understand to do. But my thing is play national rules and quit changing them from one weekend to the next. BS
Re: All TEAMS/ COACHES please give me your advice.
So the reason people cry over one guy on another team thinking that person will make a difference is stupid. Play the national rules and serve it to them. They will hit it out and that team or person will not want to play in that class cause they are offensive ejected and ends the inning. That will make the teams play up and be able to swing away.
Re: All TEAMS/ COACHES please give me your advice.
Well I am sorry the vote from players and coaches should not be involved. Its a national rule and I have been playing so many rules that change year to year its crazy. Yes we play and pay but stick to a rule and stay with it. Then when a team goes somewhere else and complains then so be it. So no I am not crying. I am just saying one weekend is just an out then the next is offensive ejection/ inning over. It doesn't matter like you said cause it seems I am the only one that has a pair to say stick to the national rules. Thank you COACH Johnny Edwards Absolute Chaos/ Madsports #50
