MSU was horrible against Southern Miss....it wasn't a bad game. State lost 15 starters...and they aren't elite recruiters. LSU has a better OL, better RB's, better WR's, better DL, better LB's, and certainly better DB's. Only place MSU has the advantage is QB.....and before it's all said and done....Harris will go higher than DP....watch.
LSU returns 16 starters, many of which were TF last year, and should make major strides this year. LSU has MUCH more talent than State. It's not even close. There have been several high level analysts that have picked LSU to make the National Championship game....and Vegas has them a top 10 pick to win it all. Now, the lack of a first game may hurt, and LSU could be sloppy...but imo, barring about 4-5 turnovers by LSU, the talent level will be just too much for State to overcome. If LSU plays sloppy...they could very well not cover. If they play well, they could beat State by 2-3, or more, touchdowns.
Just one man's opinion. In any event...I'll be there.
