Under Pressure

Muscles are never built
without strong resistance,
and spiritual growth occurs
thru patience and persistence.
Without a man to shape it
a lump of clay can't be
a beautiful, handcrafted,
piece of pottery.
Only under pressure can
a diamond ever shine,
and gold becomes a treasure
only after it's refined.
So never be dismayed
when on the potter's wheel,
for one day you'll emerge
a gem from your ordeal.
