SCHOOL DAYS by Gene Minix I remember Mama calling, It's time to rise. Come on , up you go. Open those sleepy eyes. Clothes she laid out last night For us to wear. Wash the face And comb the hair. Breakfast all ready on the table. Don't let it get cold. Hurry on up, now, Do as you have been told. Daddy's already up Fixing the fence by the woods. Said tell you He loves you And for you to be good. Here's a kiss 'cause Mama loves. To help get you through. When you get home There'll be cookies and milk for you. Each day started with love. Made a brighter day. So with books and cap We were on our way. Don't forget your lunch box. The bus coming up the way. The daily routine. It's another school day. Doesn't seem that long ago.
