The Canary And The Starling By Chris The canary sang with a joyful voice, although caged, he chose to rejoice! in his cage the starling whined, moaned and groaned while confined. the canary in his situation cheerfully lived with expectation, resting peacefully day and night trusting the Lord in his plight. The starling struggled to get out filled with only fear and doubt! no rest could he ever find, no joy, hope, or peace of mind. he broke his wings in desperation resulting in more frustration. It is much the same for you and I, we rest in Christ or moan and cry! our faith in Jesus is the key that unlocks the cage and sets us free. *NOTE: I was inspired to write this poem from an analogy story by eighteenth century minister and author Laurence Sterne. |
