A STORY TRUE

I'm going to tell you a story true
About how Jesus does love you.
How He left the glories of heaven above.
O, people, the wonder of His love.

Born and laid in a manger.
God came down to man.
Took on a body of flesh.
Came to fulfil God's eternal plan.

Walked upon this earth.
Told mankind how to live.
O, the love of Christ Jesus.
How He did give.

Suffered and died upon the cross
That we might go free.
Shed His precious Blood that day.
Gave it for you and for me.

All mankind are sinners.
We all deserved death, but He
Gave His life that we might live
And from sin's curse go free.

They lay Him in a grave,
But, He arose.. He lives today.
Victor over death and grave.
He took all the fear away.

All who will take Him as Saviour
Can be free from the curse of sin.
He will put peace and joy
Where sorrow and sadness had been.

Our Lord He lives today.
Sits on His throne in heaven above.
And He's coming back again one day
To rapture those He does so love.

All who know Him as Saviour
Will rise and leave this world below
And go home to be with Jesus.
To be with Him forevermore.

I have told you a story true
About how Jesus does love you.
And how you can live with Him above.
O, people, the wonder of His love !
