CHRISTMAS MEMORIES ARE PRECIOUS by Gene Minix Christmas memories are precious. They last a lifetime. Christmas memories are priceless. How I value mine. A little boy long ago "Neath the Christmas tree. Playing with his toys Happy as could be. Mom and Dad's smiling faces As we children ran to see What Santa had brought us And left there under the tree. Driving to church On a Christmas Eve night To watch the Christmas play What a wonderful sight. Hearing the preacher read How the star shown so bright And how the shepherds came To the manger that night. To see God's precious Son Lying there upon the hay. The One who came to earth To take our sins away. I remember a candy bag Mama gave at Christmas time. Filled with special treats. How I valued mine. School Christmas parties And then the holidays. Christmas memories, precious memories One cannot take away. I remember that first Christmas For my wife and me. Forever so precious Will that memory be. And when the children came What wonderful joy. I can see them now smiling Our little girl and boy. A snow on Christmas day. Wow, what a special time. So many wonderful memories Running through my mind. And grandchildren when they arrived How we love them so. Watching them enjoy Christmas And watching the memories grow. Each Christmas is very special. And I know this one will be. And the memories that we make Will be so special to me. Thank you, Dear Lord, for your love. For your mercy and your grace each day. And thank you for the precious memories You have brought my way. Yes, Christmas memories are precious. They last a lifetime. Christmas memories are priceless. How I value mine. © Copyright 2012, by Gene Minix. All rights reserved. |
