IT'S AUTUMN TIME I KNOW by Gene Minix The nights are getting longer. Days grow shorter. The cool north breezes blow. Trees are dressing In colors so bright. It's Autumn time I know. I love to watch smoke From the village houses Curl upward and move slow. Corn and pumpkins in the fields. Sweet smells in the air. It's Autumn time I know. Children playing on piles Of leaves stacked high. Enjoying their time so. The hickory wood's aroma In the fireplace at evening time. It's Autumn time I know. Ah, the wonder of the season. Day time and night time, too. I do love it so. A big bright moon at night And a frosty morning greeting. It's Autumn time I know. © Copyright 2024, by Gene Minix. All rights reserved. |
