CHRIST IS THE REASON FOR THE SEASON

I went to sleep last night
And dreamed of another day.
When here in the United States
People weren't ashamed to say
That this was a Christian nation.
And when Christmas time came around
The city officials got together
And placed a nativity in center of town.

I went to sleep last night
And dreamed of the city park at night.
And the people gathered there to sing
In the snowy winter land delight.
They sung of sweet Jesus
And the wonderfulness of His day.
Then I awoke to reality and I cried
Because the nativity had been taken away.

The officials say it cannot stand
Anymore in the center of the town.
Jesus has been pushed aside
And only the secular things can be found.
But I will rejoice and observe Jesus' birth.
Because I know the true reason.
Christ and Christ only is
The reason for the season.
