As some of you have already heard, a few of us met with a couple of parks and rep officials from the city this morning. The dialogue was positive and he wanted to help us continue playing at the courts. Nothing official was agreed to yet, but we are good for tomorrow. They are working on taking the sign down that says the court is only for tennis use.

He also mentioned that one of the bigger complaints they got was the drinking. As this is an ongoing process with them (they want to meet with us again in the next week or so), we're asking everyone to refrain from drinking in the tennis courts area tomorrow. That includes the courts, park area and parking lot. It's better for the long-term future of the league if we're not defiant with them right now. There's a good chance the parks employees will be coming to check up on us again, especially after everything that's happened. The weather sucks tomorrow anyway, so I'm sure we can find somewhere else to have a few beers. And yes, we know that other people drink there too (baseball players, etc.) but while we're working on a permanent solution, its best if we don't.

Again, games are on as scheduled and things are looking up for the future. We haven't discussed any improvements to be made to the facilities yet, but we will be shortly. They already cut down the bush that was in one corner.
