With that argument, the Liberals are the main contributing factor in the NDP not winning more seats. The reason the Liberals have not won, is not because of the NDP, its because they dont have that connection with voters. They had no trouble under Chretien.
Uniting the left would be a good step, but the sad thing is that the Liberal party is not a true left wing party. They are a populist centre party that will do anything to get votes, left or right.
Don't see a merger, but there could be room for strategic abstinence in the future, e.g. the NDP sitting out 10 almost liberal ridings, and the Libs sitting out 10 almost NDP ridings.
Your last comments are the most funny, we are not a welfare state buddy, we are a strong econmic player that has many great tools to succeed economically. We will never end up like those countries, we should try to end up like Sweeden, Norway etc. Strong social programs, strong banking and strong economy.
Deficit builders, look at the track record of your so called "economic" parties like the Libs and Conservatives, billions added to our deficit. Look at George W. Bush (right wing - so called good for business), trillions added to the US deficient just to satisfy corporate greed (war, corporate tax cuts and de-regulation of every industry)
and finally, you still have not advised what ill effects you are feeling from the NDP rule in Ontario. How are you suffering? How can we help?
