G'day All; Just a random line of thought; watched a little post on you-ube that sparked a little idea about the flesh versus the spirit.
The post was about several paradoxes that man could not answer; each one putting out a trick question which actually look ridiculous. Trying to explain the black hole in space. Then time travel and what that would cause if you went back in time and wiped out someone, how that could change our current time. The light which passes through a slot yet is different when contacting a flat plate on the other side.
All pretty " out there" stuff. So many other of these speculations.
Interestingly a concept came to mind about how this is actually what Paul refers to in; 1 Cor 1 20,21 " Hasn't God made the world's wisdom foolish?"
By Definition a Paradox means - a contradictory statement, even if well founded; seemingly absurd.
Seems to me like an example of the flesh trying to explain the spiritual. Mankind searching for answers to who we are and why we are here tries to justify our position and knows something is out there- just cannot agree what is there. They argue and form philosophies, etc, to cut God out of the picture.
The finite flesh cannot explain the infinite spirit or what is going to happen soon.
They know something is out there, but do not recognize the angelic sphere of beings- in some other zone, yet co-existent with mankind.
Fortunately; 1 Cor 2;12 " Now we have not received the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is from God, in order to KNOW what has been freely given to us by God."
1 Cor 2;14-16 " But the natural man does not welcome what comes from God's spirit, because it is foolish to him; HE IS NOT ABLE TO KNOW SINCE IT IS DISCERNED SPIRITUALLY. The spiritual person can, however, discern everything, yet cannot be discerned by anyone. For who has known the mind of the Lord that he may instruct Him. But we have the mind of Christ." Amen!!
1 Cor 3;20-22 " The Lord knows the reasonings of the wise, that they are futile. So no one should boast in men, for all things are yours; whether Paul or Apollos, or Peter, or the world or life or death or things present or things to come;- all are yours and you belong to Christ, and Christ to God."
2 Cor 4;18 " So we do not focus on what is seen, but on what is not seen, for what is seen is temporary, but what is not seen is eternal."
Just one concept about those paradoxes with which mankind struggles.

G'day Heather, Having a family helps make me appreciate how much our Heavenly Father does and will do for us. When I see the kids, or the grandies make a mistake I always have to remember I've been there, done that, so correct them in a loving manner or support them in their time of need. Of course all easy to say. Technology has some advantages, but also has heaps of extra work load. The grandies are quicker with their technical skills but are lacking in consequential thinking, and or cause and effect. Still great kids amongst this "new age" stuff: just slowly illuminating their opinions bit by bit with pretty big gaps in between those observations. Glad our true Father is more efficient and effective. Cheers
