I have been thinking {again} about all the fake news that we seem to be inundated with nowadays.
When I was younger someone told me a simple method of how to get to the truth of something - anything.

Here is what I was taught:
Ask yourself these six basic questions; and then answer them.

Remember, these are simple things to ask yourself.

Who?
What?
Where?
How?
When?
and last of all:
Why?

The asking is easy, the answering is more difficult.

If you can answer the first five to your satisfaction, you will very likely not be mis-informed.

Now as to the sixth one - Why? - that is not too easy to answer. It will make you do some hard thinking.

Asking yourself these six questions, and then answering them, should get you to the truth of most anything.
