I used to check if someone followed a private account by blocking the suspected follower (whether it was a public or private account) and then monitoring whether the private account's follower count dropped by one. This used to work well when the follower count was less than 100.
Since early November, this method has stopped working for me. I don't know if it's been fixed or if my account has been restricted from collecting data.
