My girlfriend and I are moving about 800 miles from Florida to Alabama. We have about a studio's worth of stuff and we still need to get my car there. I looked at a few options but containers are expensive, about 2k, so that's not an option. Uhaul was about 1400 for a 12 foot truck with a hitch. Uhaul gets 12 mpg and if it's towing a truck it's probably about 10, so that's about $250 in gas. I've also looked at buying containers like Ubox or Pack Rat.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated. We are young and broke.
