I recently had a minor surgical procedure (laparoscopic gallbladder removal) and I’ve been discharged to recover at home. The surgeon said everything went well, and I was given basic instructions on how to manage pain, watch for infection, and gradually resume light activity. Still, I’m feeling uncertain about how to structure my days, how much movement is enough, and how to avoid setbacks. I live alone, and while I can call a friend if needed, I want to remain independent as much as I can. Has anyone been through a similar situation or supported someone recovering at home after surgery? I’m especially interested in specific routines or practices that made the home recovery process smoother—what helped with pain management, mobility, meals, and just general comfort in the first couple of weeks?
