Hi! I have been using
https://shifton.com/shift-scheduling in our office for several months now, and I can share both the pros and cons of the system. Automatic settings are really convenient, but of course, they are not without their drawbacks. In general, the system copes well with the task of distributing shifts, taking into account the working hours of employees and their preferences. But there is a moment that we encountered - sometimes the algorithm incorrectly processes requests for specific days of the week or hours. For example, if an employee has a request to work only morning shifts, and the system for some reason sets it for the evening, this can be a problem. In this case, you have to manually adjust the schedule. As for sick leave or urgent changes, here the schedule generator for employees also has its own peculiarities. For example, if one of the employees gets sick or urgently needs to change shifts, automation may not take these moments into account at the time when the system has already "generated" the schedule. However, such changes are made manually quite easily, and the system immediately recalculates all shifts so as not to disturb the overall balance.
