How do you justify buying a Rolex?Easy….It’s a luxury status symbol. Just like Cadillac, Mercedes Benz, Mont Blanc pens, Armani suits, Louis Vuitton luggage, Harry Winston jewelry, Dom Perignon Champaign, and the list goes on. People justify buying Rolex for the same reasons as the afore mentioned products; because they can…and of course they’re better than you. There’s nothing that special about a Rolex when you really analysis it. It’s a well made, mass produced watch. The key is that several of the products have become icons - Submariner, Daytona, and Datejust designs have remained constant for the last 50 + years, and have made their way into our lexicon of style and status. That and lots of advertising. Remember, an automatic Seiko is every bit as good as a Rolex at less than 1/20th the price.
