We manufacture medium-sized steel components for industrial equipment and recently one of our international clients added mandatory MPI control to the contract. Until now, we only performed occasional inspections using a portable yoke and dry powder, mostly for internal quality checks.
Now the requirements are stricter: documented procedures, stable magnetization parameters, and clear defect visibility — especially for surface cracks in load-bearing areas. I’ve started researching more professional systems, but I want something that fits industrial production, not just basic field testing.
Has anyone recently selected new equipment for in-house MPI? I’m particularly interested in systems that allow proper longitudinal and circular magnetization, and ideally something scalable for growing production. Also, where did you compare technical specs in detail before making a decision?
