I first met Dave at the 2002 Borgward meet in Benicia, CA. He, like other club members, asked if I would like to ride along with him on one of the outings. Every year since then, I looked forward to riding with him at the Borgward meets to hear his stories of what car he was working on .
I found him to be a very interesting guy. From his many trips to Vietnam, to his fundraising efforts for the Vietnam Friendship Village, to his love and enthusiasm for the cars built by Carl Borgward and his willingness to always have a helping hand. .
Dave was always willing and able to help me out with my Goliath Tiger questions and could always come up with a hard to find part, as he did for many club members. As a matter of a fact, I just received a set of Goliath doors from Dave on January 2, and I called him the next day to tell him that they arrived in good condition. So it was a shock to me when I found that Dave had passed on a day or two later to a better place where everyone drives Borgwards.
Dave will be missed by all those whose life he touched.
