Gentlemen:
I was attracted to your service department by a recent Borgward advertisement in the New York Times, and this letter is being written as a tribute to one of the finest service departments I have ever come across in my experience with foreign cars.
For the past year I have been plagued by a heavy metallic noise in the rear of my [Borgward] car and it was not until your Mr. G.M. Stanfill and his fine crew literally took the car apart and put it together again that the trouble was found and corrected.
I am bringing this matter to your attention mainly because it is so gratifying that there are today still people around who take pride in their work and who are not satisfied until a job is done properly. I realize that on this particular job your company did not make any money or even cover expenses, but you have made a friend and most certainly customer.
Please convey my thanks again to Mr. Stanfill for his perseverance and accept my thanks for employing such a man who not only looks out for his company but takes pride in his work and sees to it that your chance customers become your regular, satisfied, customers.
Yours very truly,
Frederick B. L----
