I was a crew chief with the 333rd TFS. I spent most of my year (june 69 - may 70)at Tahkli on the flight line and engine test pad. I have been dealing with the VA for 2 plus years on my agent orange claim. Has anyone used the Marine Corps League in Detroit to assist with strategy and communication? It's getting frustrating and I'm not sure if it's the VA or the people helping me.
I hope you have received your benefits by now but when researching my appeal I did find the following information. It was from a claims decision at the board:
In March 2017, written correspondence from an archivist at the Air Force Historical Research Agency was provided regarding the Veteran's claim to herbicide exposure and daily morning reports. The archivist stated that in June 1966, the United States Air Force ceased using morning reports, so there were none to document the Veteran's time in Thailand. In addition, the archivist stated that Takhli Air Force Base did not use any herbicides for any vegetation control around its perimeter until April through September 1969, and thus the Veteran could not have incurred herbicide exposure.
Notice they admit herbicide spraying while you were there.
I just sent new evidence trying to prove I was on or near the base perimeter and that seems to be their big thing. Let me know how you are doing because you have a year on me for filing your claim.
