Can anyone explain what this was awarded for? From what i can gather it was around the '70 timeframe at Takhli and Korat. What was the criteria to receive the award?

THUNDER GUN WAS FOR A MIG KILL WHEN I WAS AT Takhli '66 to '67.

Just wondered what was criteria for this award. Was there 12/66 - 12/67. Thanks.

Up until recently, I had an issue of the "Takhli Times" that had an article in it about the "Thundergun" award. I have since returned it to its original owner but I do have a scanned copy of it. Unfortunately my computer died. I'll have to stick the HD into an old computer and see if I can retrieve it.

To: W. Thomason Do you know if that was a 355TFW award, or for anyone assigned to Takhli? I was in the SAC refueling unit there from 12/66 to 12/67. Just wondering?

IF MY MEMORY IS CORRECT, THE AWARD WAS JUST A WAY OF SAYING TO A PILOT, WE ARE PROUD OF YOU FOR MAKING A MIG KILL. IT WAS JUST A WING THING.
