Dear David,

Thank you for posting the link to help our wonderful Veterans with herbicide exposure.

It is so sad that they have to struggle so hard to get their benefits after going oversea's , some leaving their families behind and then not being able to count on health benefits after they begin to come down with various and multiple illnesses at one time.

Your statement is true for all of our Thailand veterans. The requirements for our Thailand veterans are certainly different from the requirements when filing a claim for Vietnam.

It is my personal belief that regardless of where you were.. If herbicides were used at all .. unless you were are like the bubble boy.. inside an airtight bubble... then you more than likely breath it in...

I know that we are suffering with our economy.. So I can only assume that this is the reason why they will not recognize our Veterans who were in SEA during the time dangerous herbicides were used.

Sometimes, although our veterans show proof that their job duties were near the perimeter, they are still requiring more detailed information before they will consider the claims.

Most of our military guards, augmentee and dog handlers will automatically be approved.. So for that I am grateful.

I need your help. I was in takhli June 1968 June 1969.
We had to pull guard duty on the perimeter a lot of times
While I was there. Plus we did engine checks on the rum up pad which was on the edge. The area was defoliated with herb asides . I do not know what kinds. I will need conformation letter to heal me.

Neal, I have several questions that may help you in your quest to help your claim.

Is your claim in the beginning stages, have you ordered your military file from the archives?

And also, what may help is to find someone that you served with for a buddy statement...

entered claim for type 2 diabetes nov 2011
claim has been sent to JARRC and now they want more info. i have 1 buddy statement but i will need more info. crew chief on flight line guard on perimeter (augment) engine run up on pad at end of runway on perimeter. these are not recorded in my paper work. can you help.

I sumitted my claim in nov 2011. I have 10%
for right ureteral calculus and chronic prostatitis---awarded 1973 now i have type 2 diabetes. they sent my claim to JSRRC on jan 2
i have my records but they do not show where they used me on the primeter as a guard. I think they refer to that as augument. I have one buddy letter but i need more info. I messed up i used herbicide exposure.

Neal tried your email , would not work. Also Neal I have researched the internet over several months and have NEVER found where the VA or federal government has stated agent orange was used in Thailand. They admit to tactical herbicides but not agent orange. May 2010 VA Bulletin clearly states there position. A agent orange phyical is availble for Thai vets exposed to herbicides. This phyical is for anyone exposed to any type of herbicides in southeast asia, not just agent orange. Good luck

Leonard, I have buddy statement that we pulled guard duty on the perimeter and tha the engine runp was down at the end of the runway in the edge of the perimeter. He was in the 41st TEWS and I was in the 42nd TEWS. across the ramp. All the records do not show guard duty Augmentee. a lot of us did that. They put us out there all night and told us we had better not go to sleep.
any help would be accepted.

All, I am doing all the leg work for my father, Farriel Britt, who was at Takli in 68. 779th TAC, 464th TAS pneudralic repairman on all C-130 assigned there. Having trouble establishing boots on ground and need all the help I can get. I have complete service records, but no "golden nugget" to seal the proof. Claim submitted 02/12 and still waiting. I had the VSO do an expedite due to advanced prostate cancer and complete prostectomy plus added to the AO national registry. But VA still wants boots on ground. Any help would be appreciated.
