Joseph, I was not assigned to Hospital but was with the 355th Security Police Squadron in Law Enforcement during part of my tour March 69 to Jan 70. Wondered if you had any info on incident. I met a vehicle that had come through the gate and headed to hospital. When I arrived found a Thai in back that had been shot laying in back of vehicle. Doctor came out of hospital and told me to help him. I got into pickup with him and held IV bag while he inserted IV. Driver then left for Thai hospital about 60 miles north. Thai was a local policman. He and his partner were in bar downtown when someone came into bar and shot his partner in head, killing him and shot him in about 4-5 inchies below belly button. Just wondered if anyone remembers incident. Thanks

Steve,

Wow, what an experience. I'm sorry I can't help. I generally worked the 4:00 PM to 7:00 AM shift, so I would have been on duty in the ER, unless it was a day off

We were there together overlapping for about six months, but I would have remembered such a horrific incident.

Best wishes,

Joe

Thanks anyway Joe, not surprised that it was kept quiet. I don't remember writing up a report on it. I'm sure we could not admit locals to the hospital and by regulations we could not let them through the gate, however we worked with the local police on town patrol and I'm sure the first place they thought of when needing help was us. Hope he made it through, I worked with several of them downtown myself.
