Thanks for this article. I was an electrician on the KC-135's at Takhli in 1967-68. Very proud to do my job! We moved to CCK in mid 68.

Our Takhli crews could not have made it to target and back wtihout at least two air to air refuelings. This is a good article from June 1998 issue of Air Force Magazine.

Interesting to read of the many times KC-135 crews went over the fence to make a save. When they did it was mostly undocumented since they were never to cross the line.
Takhli being the Base farthest from the target areas meant crews had to hit the tankers going in and coming out or sometimes recover at Udorn or NKP - Bases closer to the Laotian border.
