Re: AO Exposure in Thailand
The first cancer I was diagnosed with (testicular) was back in 88'. Never gave a thought to AO exposure since I was unaware that we used that agent at Takhli. Then 2 years ago I was diagnosed with prostate cancer (current treatment) that alot of guys get. Still didn't give it much thought until I started reading up on this disease. It was then I read that Vietnam Vets diagnosed with prostate cancer should consider exposure to AO as a culprit. I have a Marine Corps friend, also a Vietnam Vet, who is 100% disabled from diseases linked to Agent Orange. He has told me that he would be more than happy to go with me to the Veteran's Administration in Long Beach CA and introduce me to a lady there who is familair with the paper work & procedures, etc. I plan of doing that very soon. In any event, I spent much of my year on the flight line as well as perimeter areas like taxi way 4 as well as 1. I understand that this is where much of the AO was deployed to keep the foliage under control. Any help or advice is much appreciated, Carl.
