you owe this to your self too my Mary.... All the years you were with husband, supporting him, helping him when he was sick and watching him as he left all of us ... He was a wonderful hero and you are a wonderful heroin... It's so easy for some to forget the role of the spouse and best friends of our heroes ...

I watched my Mama give her all for my Daddy... and I have lots of respect and love for all of our spouses of our heroes.. YOU also deserve this award.. and more...

I had asked a DAV representative if he would help Mama with her DIC claim... He stated.. NO... I only help the Veteran's who are alive... and widows are not eligible for the benefit if denied.

I wanted so much to show him a movie.. of all the days and nights my Mama for over 20 years took care of my Daddy who had Parkinsons and prostate cancer both at same time...lost one eye while in service and also had heart disease.. I just wanted this Veteran and representative to remember that when we have a hero that is married to someone for over 54 years... that there are two heroes here.. not just one... sometimes the widows are all but forgotten... how would that make our beloved Veteran feel if he knew of this...
