Re: Buddy letter re Orange at Takhli
For Linda Wood, it all depends on whose interpertation of near the base perimeter they use, I delivered bombs from the bombdump located as close as who can get to the base primeter, and which was sprayed with and at the same time as the primeter, I am reasonably sure when they sprayed the revetment walls to kill the vegetation that it probably got on the bombs that we hauled to the flightline and were handled by all the crews working with and on the planes. And also for the guy wanting a birds eye view of the base, the present day base, has the flightline and bombdump still in the same place I doubt the relationship of that area to the base primeter is different on that side of the base, any changes would have been to the east and south sides of the base as far as I can see in the airel photos of Takhli royal thai air force base on google maps satelite photos. bring up google maps and type in Takhli Nakhon Sawan Thailand it will give you that birds eye view, you have to click to bring it in closer, the flightline is pretty easy to spot for anyone that knows what one looks like. In the mid 70's and before the flight line was more toward the east side, most any new construction since then would more likely be east and south of the flightline from what I could see that was different from when I was there in June 1972 the bombdump is in the far northwest corner and there are it appears to be two roads coming from it to the flightline today, there was one when I was there. The bombdump was locate as far from the rest of the habited part of the base for safety with a clear route to the flightline, so not many changes would be made to the nothwest part of the base. If I can help any more feel free to email me at (wabbit1211@yahoo.com) I have soft tissue sarcoma cancer and have a claim now in process also, If anyone knows of any evidence that would help or of any sucessfull documeted claims from Takhli please message me.
