A mostly unrelated story: The railroad bridge from the mainland south of Espanola, Ontario to Manitoulin Island was converted to a road bridge after rail service on the Island ceased. It's one lane wide with no traffic control, except signs that say that it's one lane wide. One has to watch for oncoming traffic, and one proceeds when there is none.
