Yes Elsa Steve awhile back several of us had a discussion of this line from lapeer up to 5 lakes from lapeer. Dave O's map unfortunately only shows the line goung up to Stephens before the extension of the line was added up to 5 lakes. Brian M. Also sent a rough map of the route including the extension up to 5 lakes but this map only shows the general shape or curves the line took as it went up to 5 lakes. I can see certsin traces of the grade that still can be faintly seen on google earth but I still cannot tell exactly the line branched off the rest of the line coming up from lapeer. The maps just aren't detailed enuff to show where exactly the extension ran in relation to the roads that are still there. When I look onngooglecearth I can still see traces of a lot of the line from lapeer to Stephens and where it came up and curved around the lake just like it shows in Dave O's map however I cannot see sphere it branched off as shown in Brian Mohrs map. However I am seeing what could be a scar from the remnants of a wye junction in Stephens but after that it completely vanishes as if possibly houses have been built over top the old grade the on the left side or west side of thecmainbrd. In Stephens about a half miles north of vernors rd. I see what appears to be a railroad grade curving into the woods on a north west curve. But where did the extension branch off for sure? And where did it run until it reached the woods on the side of the main road and start into the woods on its north west curvature and then straightening out and curving ing north east abouve 5 lakes. I just completrly seems too vanish in those areas I mentioned.
