Having worked at Carleton Tower for over 4 years, I can be fairly certain about what we see in this photo. The 5751 is the Monroe Local and they have finished switching out the interchange over in the DT&I yard. They are now shoving the Plymouth and north pick up into the north pass. The northbound train on Main 1 has cut off from their train and is hanging onto a cut of cars (Plymouth or Wixom set off?) When the local's engine cuts off from the pick up and clears up in the wye (not in photo), the northbound will will pull up and be lined into the north pass to make the pick up and then double back to their train for departure. The DT&I diamond and tower are behind the photographer. PHOTO CREDIT - MARK HINSDALE
